So ... who's the mama behind MSPI Mama? Well, aren't you sweet for asking!
My name's Andrea. I'm a thirty-something child of God. I have a wonderful, hard-working husband that I married in 2002. We have three fantastic kiddos: Libby, who is 7 years old and way too smart for her own good; JD, who is a rambunctious, fun-loving, but oh-so-sweet 4-year-old little boy who was my first MSPI baby; and Caroline, a 2-year-old that has a smile that lights up the room and who was my second MSPI baby. Yes, our kids rock!
Prior to motherhood, I worked in journalism as a copy editor and designer for newspapers. I loved working in news but I love being a stay-at-home mom more!
We live in the Heartland of the good ol' USofA on the outskirts of Omaha, Nebraska. We love it here in our little ranch-style house in our quiet neighborhood right across from the park ... although a bigger kitchen would be nice!
I love to cook, read, spend time with my family, do stuff at our church and rock out at Jazzercise. (I know, I know. You're thinking of leg warmers right now! But I promise, you won't see leg warmers at Jazzercise nowadays ... well I take that back. One time this guy(!) visited our center, and I kid you not, he was wearing tights and leg warmers!)
About the blog
Thanks to my son, JD, I started the MSPI diet in 2008 when he was only a few weeks old. One of the first things I did after his diagnosis was scan the internet for as much information I could find about it -- and I wanted recipes. Lots of recipes. But I was having a hard time finding a list of MSPI-friendly recipes all in one spot, so I decided to do that myself.
Hopefully now when another mom new to MSPI starts looking for recipes, I can help her out and remind her that she isn't alone ... and she won't go hungry!
Thanks for stopping by my site. It's my baby; I hope you like it as much as I do!
